Thanks for the forum. Looking forward to posting my podcast -- as soon as I figure out how to record the dang thingie!! hee, hee. In the meantime, the first 3 chapters are posted on my wordpress blog (warning - Adult material):
Thank you Stacey for answering my questions. I do like your suggestion of creating a website with a name that will draw in people, and in turn, find me as well, so I am going to concentrate on that. Time to put the creative process to work! Thanks again.
Hi Stacey. Well the weekend cometh again! Hope you had a good week. I have a few questions for you. I am so lost in the process of promoting my writing that I haven't been concentrating so much on querying my book. I'd like to create a website (I do have a myspace but not sure that would be professional unless I changed it). Should I create a separate web page do you think to promote my writing and my book? I have joined helium.com and plan on contributing to that as well, and I want to start a blog. Aaaaah! Do I do all these things separate; if I create a new webpage and put my blog on it how will it get noticed? Also, did you submit your books to agents before you self-published? Are you happy with the self-publishing process because I may end up going that route. Sorry I have so many questions but I just have a bunch of mixed up information in my head right now and it's not getting me anywhere. Also, I did attend the seminar on blogging, etc. by Cindy Hartzell but I am still confused.
Hey Stacey. Hope you are enjoying your Friday. I have submitted a query (via email only at this point) to about six agents and have received the usual thanks but no thanks responses. I've submitted them to agencies I found in my Writer's Market book or online. I keep questioning my query letter and changing it but I don't suppose I'll be completely satisfied with it until I get that positive response I'm looking for.
Hi Stacey. Well, I'd have to say that most of my writing is fiction. I have a completed novel that would fall under the commercial fiction category I suppose, with a twist of a spiritual or supernatural theme thrown in. To be honest I'm not really sure how to categorize it. I have also written some short poems, a few song lyrics that come to me in the middle of the night, have started a short story, and would like to write a magazine article based on my ups and downs of living with a medical condition (cervical dystonia) that I was diagnosed with about five years ago.
